The excitement in the air was palpable on the 14th of August, 2023, as the Schoolpex-2023 Stamp Exhibition marked its grand inauguration. Ms. Anubrata Das, the Director of Postal Services at the Rajasthan Circle of India Posts, was the chief guest to commence the event. Joined by esteemed figures including Fr. M Arockiam SJ, Principal of St. Xavier's School, ,Yogesh Bhatnagar, President of the Philatelic Society of Rajasthan (PSR), Dr Rakesh Thapar, Rajesh Paharia.The event promised to be a memorable affair.


With the attendance of students from various schools, teachers, members of PSR, philatelists, and parents, the venue buzzed with excitement. The event kicked off with a warm welcome note by Bhoomi Singh, President of Xavier's Philatelic Club. Following that, Rajesh Paharia, General Secretary of PSR, delved into the history and present details of Schoolpex 2023.


The exhibition boasted an impressive array of 120 entries featuring over 15,000 stamps and covers. These exhibits highlighted a captivating array of themes, ranging from nature to modes of transport and even innovative subjects like medical science and greetings. A truly unique feature was the inclusion of stamps made of unconventional materials such as silk, plastic, and even scented stamps. PSR's collaboration with India Posts in a collage competition yielded artistic marvels, with common and defective stamps transformed into stunning artworks.







Praise was showered upon the organizers and school clubs by Chief Guest Ms. Anubrata Das for curating such a visually stunning and educational exhibition. Fr. M Arockiam SJ, the Guest of Honor, took the stage to motivate students, encouraging them to glean insights and knowledge from the stamps on display.


A captivating highlight of the event was a special film presentation by Vidyashram School. The film ingeniously recounted the tale of Ramayana through a carefully curated collection of stamps, showcasing the immense creativity and dedication of the students.


The festivities continued with a gripping quiz competition led by Yogesh Bhatnagar.Winners were celebrated and honored with awards by India Posts. The event also featured an India Posts stall, along with a limited number of dealer stalls, offering collectors and enthusiasts a chance to acquire a range of antiques, coins, stamps, and miniatures.








The 15th of August, 2023, witnessed a momentous occasion with the release of a special slogan cancellation greetings on Independence Day.Father Principal and other dignitaries participated in the release ceremony, adding a patriotic touch to the stamp exhibition.


As the exhibition continued into its third day, on 16th August,students embarked on an enriching educational journey, keenly observing the diverse collection of stamps and absorbing the wealth of knowledge they impart. This educational trip was a testament to the exhibition's ability to captivate and educate students from various schools, transcending the boundaries of traditional learning.


In conclusion, Schoolpex 2023 emerged as a resounding success, seamlessly blending the realms of philately and education. The exhibition not only celebrated the beauty of stamps but also harnessed their potential to inspire learning, creativity, and cultural exchange among students, collectors, and enthusiasts alike. It served as a reminder that even in the digital age, the world of stamps continues to hold a special place in our hearts and minds, bridging gaps and fostering a love for knowledge and art.
