The senior school hall of our beloved school was buzzing with excitement on the 9th of November as the Xavier's Literature Club organized the “Spell Scan” event for class 9th. Five teams participated in this thrilling competition, each representing their respective classes, filled with intellectual challenges and friendly rivalry.
The event commenced with Round 1, "Phraseology," where participants showcased their mastery of idioms and phrases. The teams impressed the audience with their interpretations of these literary expressions, setting the stage for a captivating competition.
Next up was Round 2, "Extempore," which tested the contestants' ability to think on their feet. With limited preparation time, the participants delivered appreciable speeches on various engaging topics, leaving the audience mind-blown of their quick thinking.
Round 3, "Typographic," added an element of intrigue to the competition. Teams had to present two truths and a lie, challenging their opponents and the audience to distinguish fact from fiction. This round not only showcased the teams' knowledge but also their ability to deceive and detect deception.
The intensity heightened in Round 4, the classic "Spelling Bee." Participants showcased their linguistic intellect as they spelled complex words with precision and confidence. The audience held their breath, cheering for their favorite teams and marveling at their spelling skills.
Round 5, "Pronunciation," put the teams' verbal accuracy to the test. With a selection of challenging words, contestants demonstrated their ability to enunciate with clarity . The judges were impressed by their attention to detail and flawless pronunciation.
The grand finale came with Round 6, the "Audio/Visual Round." Teams had to answer questions based on audio and visual cues, which added a dynamic and interactive element, keeping the audience engaged and entertained.
After a day filled with intense competition , the winners were announced as 9A, 9C, and 9E as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
