ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA FEAST DAY ASSEMBLY

"The only thing that counts as evidence of our love is what we do." - Saint Ignatius of Loyola."

Saint Ignatius of Loyola is one of the most revered saints in the Catholic Church who founded the Jesuit Order, which has been known for its missionary work across the world since centuries. He was born as Íñigo López de Oñaz y Loyola on 24th October 1491 in Azpeitia, Spain.

While celebrating the milestone of the 502nd Anniversary Of the Founder Of Jesuits a special assembly was organized by our fellow Xavierites. The story of his life is a remarkable example of how God can transform even the toughest and stubborn personalities into his devoted servants that was beautifully presented in a short play by some fellow Xavierites.

As a young man, Ignatius was a soldier and had a passionate lover of military glory but later experienced a spiritual conversion that changed him completely. After being injured in a battle, he spent long hours in prayer and contemplation seeking solace from his wounds and found peace with God; this is when he started to transform. It encouraged the students to live by the principle of "Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam '' (AMDG) which means For Greater Glory Of God.

In conclusion, Rev. Fr. M. Arokiam S. J. (Principal) enlightened us by explaining that Ignahtian spirituality encourages individuals to find God in all things and to actively discern God's will in their lives. He also explained great importance on prayer, self - awareness & reflection. The assembly ended with a beautiful song.
