This zeal and fervour for swimming was dazzlingly displayed in the recently held 70th Inter house swimming meet in St.Xavier’s Sr. Sec. School which was organized on 13 th September, 2022.
The event accommodated competitions in 35 different categories which included various strokes like freestyle, breaststroke , butterfly and it also had relays .The overall event was contested by the swimmers in 4 different age groups and was largely successful in gathering the curiosity of the audience.
All the swimmers exhibited their talent and relentless hard work along with an unshakeable spirit in order to secure silverware for their respective houses and they were duly appreciated by the encouragement and hooting from the audience.
In this fierce competition the swimmers left no stone unturned in a few events which even went even to the last seconds , this brilliantly displayed the competitive nature and never give up spirit of the swimmers.
The overall event was won by the golds house but they were closely chased by the greens house throughout the event in a rivalry which was deeply engrossing while the blues house got the third position and reds house secured fourth position.
The golds house was led by their torchbearer abhinandan who motivated and persuaded the whole team and also broke a record in the 50 meter breast stroke category with a timing of 31:53 seconds .
The individual performances of Sachin gurjar[greens] , gaurang[golds],devyanshi choudhary[greens] niharika[blues],prihviraj[greens],samriddhi taunk[reds] ,noyrika[blues]and atharva[blues] were also commendable.
The winners were awarded with certificates and trophies by father principal in the much anticipated prize distribution ceremony. The teacher coordinators Mrs Pinky Varghese ,Mr Sobin Cherian , Mr Navratan Agarwal and the swimming coaches did a laudable job in organising the event and because of their overall contribution the event was very enthralling and riveted everyone. They were equally supported by the commentators , time keepers ,prefects who helped in the seamless conduction of the event.
