cross country race
"Winning always doesn't mean getting first place; it means getting the best out of yourself. "
The magnificent, prestigious and much awaited Xavier's Cross Country Race was held on 12th November 2022 and it turned out to be a highly engrossing event. The run-affair commenced at 5:45 a.m. sharp with our Honourable Principal Fr. Dominic Arockiam flagging the race.
The competition which was being conducted after a 2 year hiatus courtesy the pandemic was full of enthusiasm as more than 300 students participated in it and a lot more were cheering for the ones who had participated.
All the students ran with the best of their capacity and left no stone unturned in acquiring glory for their respective houses. The unmatchable temperament and unbelievable stamina shown by the students left one and all stunned. There were just a few seconds between those who finished on the podium and those who couldn't and the audience was riveted by the close finish with no one in audience managing to save their nails.
Although all the runners put in equally valiant efforts, a few of them were spectacularly brilliant and won kudos in the end. From the boys category, Sachin Gujjar (greens), Harsh Solanki (reds) and Sebin Thomas ( golds) were victorious and won the gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.
From the girls category, Prachi Laxmi (blues) , Samridhi Taunk (reds) and Niharika Bansal (blues) turned out to be winners achieving gold , silver and bronze medal respectively.
All the players were given energy drinks after the cessation of race and we would like to especially thank Amul company and our alumnus Mr. Ashtosh Swamy who smoothly co-ordinated with the company for their unmatchable service.
We would also like to applaud the efforts of Father Arockiam, Mrs. Pinky Varghese and other sports teachers, house captains and the lively audience which cheered for the competitors throughout the match.
