dAYAWANTI MEMORIAL DEBATE CLASS 11-12 2022

One more day by the recesses of debate Just one more when even yesterday was too late One more thought that we had to sell About "Death Penalty has no place in the modern world."

As this excerpt goes, the "Dayawanti Memorial Inter-House English Debate Competition" for classes 11-12 on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, was organized at the Senior School Auditorium, and the matter of the discourse was "Death Penalty has no place in the modern world." This moment grew fascinating with the board of judges comprising Fr. Amalraj, a Jesuit father with Sis. Gemma Joseph, Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary who recently joined hands with our Xavier's family, and Ms. Pooja Sherry, our favorite French teacher with double masters in English and French.

A few minutes after the debate, the aura became intense, with the flanks proferring and glorifying the topics with daring and fearless opinions. Sixteen of our most promising debaters squabbled to win this prestigious debate of this institution.

The speakers proposed their meticulous viewpoints with precise analysis and facts. Where those for the motion consistently curbed the audience with their explicit perspectives on the impact of the death penalty on teenagers, non-guilty wardens, and an easy way for the perpetrators to escape from their sins were whipped back by the speakers against the motion favoring the innocence of the poor, increasing criminal cases with exemplary real-life instances.

Even the interjectors weren't pushovers. Each of them abashedly questioned their respective speakers and proved their research wrong, putting them out of their loop.

Following this captivating argument, Fr. Amalraj marked the day with his positive assertions, encouraged the orators for their distinctive standpoints, and wished them luck for their future ambitions.
