The assembly began with an introduction to the renowned saint and His dream of redemption. His vision and contribution for missionary work and teaching cognized and carried out by the whole of mankind, were acknowledged and a sense of humanitarianism was instilled into all among the spectators.
This brief introductory outset was followed by a play on the life story of St Ignatius (birth name : Íñigo López de Loyola) directed and acted by a cadre of teachers and students of St Xavier's. The birth and upbringing of St Ignatius, in obulence and nobility, and yet his fervour to serve in military for his nation, an incentive of pronounced patriotism for all, was creatively displayed by the actors. The portrayal of his service in the military and second to none valour in the battlefield, astonishing even to the winning France, compelling them to take in a wounded Íñigo for recuperation signified the historic notability of the moments recorded. While recuperating, he read a book on the life of Christ and another on the lives of saints, ultimately leading Him to the attainment of spiritual awakening. The play concluded with a scenic representation of St Ignatius promulgating his teachings to His followers from around the globe.
It was an ethralling depiction of the life of St Ignatius, which was followed by a reflective addressal by Rev'd Fr. M. Arochiam (Principal) of St. Xavier's Sr. Sec. School. The students were recharged with ardor to work for humanity and enhancement of every individual and even the teachers were filled with praise and admiration for the event and its history which definitely served its purpose.
