RAFI CUP 2022

"Football is like life. It requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority."

The prestigious and much awaited RAFI CUP was held on 4th and 5th September, 2022 for the Senior students. The teams in the tournament were based on the houses 'Reds', 'Blues', 'Greens' and 'Golds' and all of them endavoured hard to achieve glory.

The tournament was very interesting and we got to see some nail - biting finishes as well as some one - siders.

The first match of the competition was between reds and golds which turned out to be a thrilling rain halted contest which had everyone on the edge of their seats. The match ended in a draw with both teams scoring 1 goal apiece . The result was taken on the basis of penalty shootout in which golds were declared as the winners.

The second match was between blues and greens and blues easily won the encounter scoring 2 goals opposite to none by Greens which gave us our two finalists.

The third - place match was fought between the two losing teams - Greens and Reds. This also turned out to be a thriller and greens won it courtesy a last minute goal and the scorecard read 2-1 in the favour of Green

The most important match of the tournament- the final was played between two heavyweights , Blues and Golds, who left no stone unturned in giving their best and fought tooth and nail in order to be victorious. But in the end, Blues were too much for the Golds and despite their best efforts, they couldn't score any goal and lost by a big difference of 3 goals.

We witnessed excellent skills, unbelievable temperament and immense talent throughout the championship along with brilliant game awareness.

Every player gave their 100% on the field and were outstanding in their own right but some turned out to be the best among the lot.

Suhan Ali was declared as the player of the tournament, Satyam Negi was the highest goal scorer with 3 goals, Mudit was the best defender and Ritvik won the emerging player award.

The audience was also very charming and applauded and motivated the players and were fascinated by the quality of sportsmanship.

Lastly, we would also like to applaud the efforts of Pinky ma'am and Sobin sir and all the house captains who played their part to perfection and the tournament could only be organised because of their special efforts.
